To enrich their Surface Coatings unit, Polymer Science II students visited GT Collision and Accessories in Brookhaven. During their guided tour with GT representative, John Thames, students enjoyed seeing some of their Coatings content in real-life applications. They experienced demonstrations of surface preparation techniques and mixing, application, and curing of various bonding compounds and primers. Students were introduced to the wide variety of adhesives and coatings systems in use in the automotive aftermarket, as well as the challenges and technology for color matching.
