·         Th and Fr – Do Polymer Properties Lab Stations.

·         Finalize lab reports and turn in on Tuesday.

·         Additives for Polymer Systems Research Activity to complete Additives tables using additives articles and websites* – Jigsaw it Each research group prepares wall board for each additive type and presents to class.

·         W – AHL day – Finish up research and do CANVAS  discussion on Resin and Additives Updates.

·         Complete Additives Tables review if needed

·         Go through slides 9-20 of the Polymer Processing PPT using video links for compounding equipment.

·         Announce Units 5 & 7, Test 1 on Th to include additives and compounding; Mw, Mn, MWD review; Polymer Structural Influences; MFR/MFI, plus a couple questions from Poly Properties Lab.

·         Lecture- factors affecting processability – slides 21-25 from Processing PPT

1.       Injection Molding – Create CNotes from pp. 161-165 of NSTA’s Polymer Chemistry, Ch. 8: Two EQs – How and when is injection molding used for polymer processing? Describe various IM processes. What are common IM defects and how might you address them?

2.       Review master CNotes for IM; IM videos and defect websites (hyperlinks on CNotes).

3.       Prepare for IM Labs, testing out Injection Molder with various resins; EIKAs on LDPE and PS

9.       Conduct rotational molding Lab using LDPE.

10.   Close reading of MIT Polymer Foams Lecture looking for foam structures/ types (FST), Blowing Process (BP), Foamed Product Production (FPP), Advantages/ Disadvantages of (AD), Foam History (H), Uses (U). Students create CNotes on 3 EQ’s*(1 page f/b on each EQ)
