Week 1 Personal and Consumer Health ()
  • bell ringers every day, we will do a letter to yourself, goals worksheet, video quiz on hygiene, and video quiz on culture similarities and differences
Week 2 Mental Health ()
  • bell ringers every day, worksheet on personality, stress test, video quiz on anxiety and personality disorders, coat of arms, and watch a beautiful mind and have a quiz
Week 3 Family and Social Health ()
  • bell ringers every day, watch a video on conflict and have a quiz, watch a video about family and take a quiz, a worksheet on listening and speaking with I messages, a worksheet on different communication types, and a friendship worksheet
Week 4 Human Growth and Development ()
  • bell ringers every day, color a baby color sheet, watch a video about life and take a quiz
Week 5 Disease Prevention and control ()
  • bell ringers every day, do a worksheet on different diseases that works across the curriculum, a worksheet about the immune system and how aids effects, use the book to do worksheet on diseases
Week 6 Nutrition and fitness ()
  • bell ringers every day, watch Fat like me and take quiz, silly syllable scramble, digestive color sheet, crack the code, then label the 50 states and color which states contain certain grains, and do a worksheet from the book on nutrients and the proper way to lose and gain weight
Week 7 Substance abuse and prevention ()
  • bell ringers every day, tobacco packet, drug worksheets, use the Truth about Drugs workbooks in class to answer questions about drugs, worksheet on how drugs affect a fetus, types of drug abuse worksheet, design a t- shirt to get people to say no to drugs, tobacco, or alcohol, and do a worksheet on analyzing a cartoon 
Week 8 Community and Environmental Health ()
  • bell ringers every day, watch a video and have quiz on the Mississippi river and how it effects our environment, and use textbook to do worksheet on the environment from textbook  
Week 9 Safety and First aid and Final ()
  • bell ringers every day, do safety workbook, use book to answer worksheets on weather and first aid, watch video about first aid and have a quiz, and then learn the basic steps of CPR
  • Exam Week ()
 
Each week we have vocabulary and Unit test on Thursday and Friday.

Week 3 Competency
  • Describe how the skills of communication, cooperation, and advocacy are essential for healthy relationships.
  • Describe why the family is the basic social unity of society.
 
Week 4 Competency
  • Summarize how genetic traits are passed on from one generation to another.
  • Examine health practices to be considered before, during, and after pregnancy.
  • Identify physical, mental, and emotional changes that occur from childhood through adolescence.
  • Examine the aging process from adulthood through death.
 
Week 5 Competency
  • Recognize the causes, transfer, and control of common communicable diseases.
  • Recognize the ways to prevent HIV infection and STDs.
  • State causes, signs, and control of noninfectious diseases.
 
Week 6 Competency
  • Summarize how responsible food choices lead to nutritional health.
  • Discover the importance of fitness.
 
Week 7 Competency
  • Examine the health hazards of tobacco.
  • Summarize the health hazards of alcohol.
  • Analyze the health hazards of drugs and the benefits of medicines.
  • Illustrate the health hazards of inhalants.
  • Discuss refusal and interventions skills.
 
Week 8 Competency
  • Identify community health-care agencies, health careers, and the importance of family medical records.
  • Explain how the environment affects people and how people affect the environment.
 
Week 9 Competency
  • Discuss promotion of safety and prevention of accidents.
  • Discuss and demonstrate procedures for emergency situations.
