Brookhaven Technical Center recently announced Sam Allen, a first year Digital Media Technology student, September recipient of the Brookhaven Technical Center Citizenship Award.

Family Dynamics Service Learning Project.

On Wednesday Oct 25, 2017 FCCLA, Family Dynamics and JROTC students participated in a Service Learning project as part of our curriculum requirement for the courses. Service Learning integrates classroom instruction/learning with hands on community service in the local community as well as leadership.

Dr. Patterson discussed the use and progression of polymers, metals, ceramics, and composites in dental applications over the years, materials selection for various dental applications, and current, as well as emerging, technologies in the dental industry.

Report Card Pick Up Day

Report Card Pick Up Day

Tuesday, October 10, will be a Student Holiday for BSD to give parents the opportunity to pick up report cards and meet with teachers. Elementary schools will be making teacher appointments in 15 minute intervals with the last appointment being for 5:45. Schools will be open from 11 to 6 but will be closed for lunch from 2 to 3. If you have any questions, please contact your child's school.

Eclipse Preparation

To ensure the safety of our students, we will need to keep our elementary and Jr. High students, grades PreK-8, inside the buildings during the eclipse hours of 12:00 until the end of the usual normal school day, on Monday, August 21. Principals will limit movement after lunch to protect our students. No outside viewing of the eclipse is allowed without Principal approval. Teachers will inform all students, grades PreK-12, about the eclipse and how looking at the sun without protective eye glasses can cause severe eye damage and blindness. Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about this event and the injuries that can result from looking directly at the sun without protective eye glasses. Some live streaming of the event will occur where facilities and technology are available.
